Robert H. Smith Papers, 1838-1866

Robert Hardy Smith (1813-1878) was a lawyer and Confederate congressman of Mobile, Ala. The collection includes six family letters from Smith, one legal item, and genealogical data about the Hardy family and Moore family. The letters include two Smith wrote to his wife from Richmond in 1861 concerning actions taken by the Confederate congress and other matters.
